Competition is over: See you next year

And so ends this great event - see you soon for the next one!

Time moves on quickly, a month has passed already yet still these images bring back sharp memories.  However, everything comes to an end, and I'd like to lower the curtain, finally, on this World Championship.

This was an exceptional event in every sense of the word:  the high level of the tasks and standards of the pilots, the dedication of the volunteers who worked hard to ensure the competition ran well, and not least, by the faultless support of the regional and local authorities and our federation.  I'd like to take the opportunity also, to thank our sponsors and all the media that have promoted the Chevalet airfield and the Hautes-Alpes department with accounts of the flights, articles and commentary as well as photos and video footage.

The film which follows summarises the highlights of this event, in just a few minutes, and shows not only the technical flying of these amazing ultralight gliders, but the stunning landscape of the Hautes-Alpes.  A huge thank you to Antoine and Chris of Invid Productions for their amazing images and for this superb production.

We have just finished balancing the books for this World Championship and the Big Task Open, and I would particularly like to thank the entire organising team which stayed the course under conditions, which were sometimes tricky, but also highly rewarding in terms of technical and personal achievement.

You will easily find your way around our website, with articles, videos and blogs, as well as the results of the two competitions, complete with the 2D and 3D tracks of all the pilots over all the tasks.

Looking forward to seeing you soon for the next great adventure
